Cirey-les-Nolay is located up on a hill In the Southwest part of the Cote d’Or, among the vineyards of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and only at a 1 km distance of Nolay, famous for its picturesque market hall from the 15th century.
In Nolay you’ll find 3 boulangers, a butcher shop and a midsize supermarket.
All prestigious wine villages such as Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Montrachet, Auxey Duresses, Santenay are within a 15 minutes car drive.
Even closer to the gite at walking distance, 3 vineyards have their domain offering a wide range of excellent Burgundy wines from Hautes Cotes de Beaune to Premier Cru Meursault.
The beautiful town Beaune, the capital of the Burgundy wines, founded in 1443, with its magnificent Hospices de Beaune, is within a 20 km reach.
At about 65 km distance is Dijon, home of the Dukes of Burgundy and capital of the Cote d’Or.
From the gite there is direct access to a broad network of hiking and biking paths including at a 200 m distance the “Voie Verte”, a biking path that follows the course of an old railway and runs all the way to Macon.
For those who would enjoy visiting a historic castle, there will be plenty to explore nearby the gite, like the chateau’s in Rochepot, Coraboeuf, Couches and Sully.
